Belvedere - Winter

For this spot we took inspiration from Belvedere’s iconic bottle design, creating a frosty fairytale forest concept.

THE SET

We built a small-scale practical winter wonderland and shot it with a combination of anamorphic and spherical lenses. We used custom effects filters to punch up the dreamy look.

VFX

While most of the piece was shot practically, the snowflakes are computer generated giving us more control and a higher level of detail in the macro shots than artificial snow would allow.

BEHIND THE SCENES

Take a lookin into the production, with this BTS vidwo

A peek behind the scenes of creating a winter wonderland. Check out the video here: https://vimeo.com/121814182 We wanted to create a dreamy look so we started with the glass. We used cine-converted vintage Canon FD lenses. Next, we created some 4x4 filters with nail polish (for a watery window look) and sand paper (to pull in more flares from the edge of frame). We used an Anamorphot Anamorphic adapter on all our lenses except the macro shots. Those were cropped to the proper aspect ratio in post. The prop snow was a mixture of epsom salt and white glitter (for a little extra glamour). The falling snow flakes were created in Cinema 4D and composited in using After Effect.
